Martin Fitzgerald Lawrence [1] (born April 16, 1965) is an American comedian, actor, and producer. Lawrence came to fame during the 1990s, establishing a Hollywood career as a leading histrion. He got his start playing Maurice Warfield in What's Happening At present!! (1987–1988). He was a leading actor in the Fox goggle box sitcom Martin, the Bad Boys franchise, and House Political party, Boomerang, Wild Hogs, Nil to Lose, Blue Streak, Life, Big Momma's House, and A Thin Line Between Dear and Detest.
Early life [edit]
The fourth of half dozen children, Martin Fitzgerald Lawrence was born on Apr 16, 1965, in Frankfurt, Westward Germany. His male parent, John Lawrence, was serving in the U.S. military at the time of his birth.[1] Lawrence's first and eye names were named subsequently civil rights leader Martin Luther Rex Jr. and U.Due south. President John F. Shortly later appearing at The Improv, Lawrence won a performance spot on Star Search.[1] He did well on the evidence and fabricated it to the final round, but did non win. The prove premiered on August 4, 2014, but was cancelled after one flavor after receiving poor reviews.[10]

Arrests, lawsuits and wellness issues [edit]
In July 1995, while on the set filming A Thin Line Betwixt Dearest and Hate, Lawrence lashed out in a violent rage and was then hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre.[19]
On May 8, 1996, he became increasingly erratic and was arrested after he brandished a pistol in the middle of an intersection on Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles, screaming, "They're trying to kill me!" He was once more hospitalized, with his public-relations amanuensis citing exhaustion and aridity as the reasons for this episode.[i] On July 29, 1996, he tried to take a 9mm gun onto a plane and received two years probation and a fine.[20]
In January 1997, Lawrence's Martin co-star Tisha Campbell-Martin filed a lawsuit against him, alleging sexual harassment and abuse both on and off set.[21] By April 1997, Campbell had settled the lawsuit, and returned to appear in the terminal ii episodes of the series.[22] In March 1997, Lawrence was arrested after punching a homo in a Hollywood nightclub.[i]
During August 1999, Lawrence slipped into a three-day coma later on collapsing from heat burnout while jogging in 100 °F (38 °C) heat in training for Big Momma's House while wearing heavy clothing and a "plastic suit."[one] [23] He recovered in the hospital subsequently entering a near fatal blackout due to a torso temperature of 107 °F (42 °C), his breathing assisted by a ventilator.[24]
